Seeds Yellow

Over the years I bought my garden seeds from a number of different places. I ordered seeds I've purchased over the counter. If you order seeds, you need to do it well in advance to be ready when the ground is ready to work in the spring. Nothing worse than ordering seeds and did not when things are ready to spring.

When you order seeds can be obtained exactly what you want. If you prefer a certain variety of beans or corn, you can get just about some cases. You can also try varieties that you would never see in a store. A place I ordered from a number of times is Johnny's Selected Seeds Maine. When I ordered there years ago, they just had a little catalog of black and white. Now they have a pleasant site to order. They have many varieties that are very interesting to try. We've also bought stuff from Henry Fields Catalog. You do not know if they are still activity in itself.

If you buy over the counter, you're almost limited to what the retailer has in stock. I used to buy seed for the local hardware store. They sold Burpee seeds which I liked, but they were not a big store and had a limited choice varieties. At about the same thing with any store in the region. The hardware is now closed, the owner retired. There is a new lawn and garden store in town and they have a small selection of stuff but not much. They have not for some rights Purple Pod I like green beans, but they were all sold before I get there to buy.

In recent years I have bought seeds in a food store grocery store where we shop. They are small packets, but it is actually my garden philosophy of small plantations individual and more variety. They sell a seed company called Botanical interests and they are all organic seeds grown, I think. I had good results with them. I also buy some Ferry-Morse Organic seeds at Lowe's. I planted some of their Okra this year and I planted a number of things last year and had good results.

I usually buy organic seeds when I can. But, I plant sweet corn is usually treated seeds. It is difficult to find the sweet corn that is not treated here. I buy not the little packets of corn, because it would be too many so I buy my wheat in bulk at the local garden center. I could order some seeds untreated next year if I can do it sooner. I want to plant the early varieties of corn. We had our first sweet corn this year in the last week of June I was a little delayed by wet weather and cool weather of spring planting, but good rains are made for late planting.

I usually buy my seeds of green beans in the garden, but this year I planted some small packets of passion for botany. Each package has enough for about 10 to 12 feet of line and I will share my rows between two different varieties, half yellow and half green beans.

I just plant a green manure crop of buckwheat on a small part of the garden that has sprouted and it will be very good. I bought that seed at health food store. There was food grade buckwheat was Kernels. I planted the right to a day or two after we had about a half inch of rain and then last week we had about two inches of rain over 12 hours so it went very good. I'll let it grow until it flowers, then to it as.
