Sowing of marigold (African Double) – Clueless?

I made some African Marigold flower seeds mixed double. He says his Ideal for borders – prefect because I wanted to pass on our doorstep .. But then on the back of the package it says "For indoor sowing" … ! … Im a novice gardens and this is my first attempt … Does this mean I have to start seedlings indoors, then once they began to grow that I can plant them outside? A long planter is best for me to use while they are inside? .. or What do I have to grow up in? " Thank you Im so confused!

Marigolds are hardy and easy to grow. You can start them indoors now and almost any container work. I just saw a picture of seedling growth in eggshells. They fit very well in the box and you can plant them in the shell, they decompose and provide nutrients for new plants. They rinse them first and stick a drainage hole in the bottom of each shell with a pin. Keep the soil moist and you can cover with plastic wrap for extra moisture to they germinate. Then, just pass them in a sunny spot and make sure not to over water them when they are small. I harvest the seeds of dead flowers all summer and plant in my garden. They grow quickly when it is warm enough. They are good in flower gardens also because many pests dislike not smell. You can also collect and save seeds for next spring.
