Plant Cutting

What kind of stem-cutting plant can be planted easily by a second year student in the Philippines?
I’m doing an investigatory project that requires three kinds of stem cutting plant, please suggest three kinds of plant that will be easily planted by a second year student in the Philippines. Thank you very much.
There are many succulant plants such as aloe and anything in that family. Spiderplants and Wandering Jew also are easily rooted this way.

Applications of Plant Metabolic Engineering
$103.5 Written by leading international experts in the field of plant metabolic engineering, this book discusses, mainly, applications of plant metabolic engineering. Metabolic engineering, which is part of second generation biotechnology, has made several contributions at basic level as well as at conceptualising products ever since its emergence in the early 1980s. Applications resulting from metabolic engineering are expected to play a very important role in future for plant breeding, e.g. for improved resistance or improved traits concerning health promoting constituents, and production of fine chemicals such as medicines, flavors and fragrances. Considering the tremendous progress that has been made since our first book in the year 2000 urgency was felt to bring together cutting edge research in plant metabolic engineering in applied aspects as a handy reference book. This book has been predominantly dedicated to applied research of metabolic engineering, and a part of it has been allotted for fundamental research that has potential applications. This book is a unique source of information for all those involved with plants as chemical factories of fine chemicals and also to more experienced scientists who work on transgenic plants, besides, senior researchers, graduate students, post-doctroral students, teachers and students as well. |

Applications of Plant Metabolic Engineering
$104 From the reviews:pImpressive progress has been made in this rapidly growing area of second generation biotechnology. a ] is an updated comprehensive reference on the applications of plant metabolic engineering. a ] This book will prove useful for researchers and professionals alike who are into the field of plant metabolic engineering. It must be emphasized that each chapter in the book is well referenced with current literature, which highlights the task of ending a book in this ever-expanding field a ] . The authors have done a commendable job. (C. Jayabaskaran, Current Science, Vol. 93 (12), 2007)pWritten by leading international experts in the field of plant metabolic engineering, this book discusses, mainly, applications of plant metabolic engineering. Metabolic engineering, which is part of second generation biotechnology, has made several contributions at basic level as well as at conceptualising products ever since its emergence in the early 1980s. Applications resulting from metabolic engineering are expected to play a very important role in future for plant breeding, e.g. for improved resistance or improved traits concerning health promoting constituents, and production of fine chemicals such as medicines, flavors and fragrances.pConsidering the tremendous progress that has been made since our first book in the year 2000 urgency was felt to bring together cutting edge research in plant metabolic engineering in applied aspects as a handy reference book. |

Cutting
$12.98 A seminal work on treating self-mutilation, revised and updated with illuminating case studies and newly available drugs and resources.Nearly a decade ago, Cutting boldly addressed a traumatic psychological disorder affecting as many as two million Americans. More than that, it revealed self-mutilation as a comprehendible, treatable disorder, no longer to be evaded by the public and neglected by professionals. Using copious examples from his practice, Steven Levenkron traces the factors that predispose a personality to self-mutilation: genetics, family experience, childhood trauma, and parental behavior. Written for sufferers, parents, friends, and therapists, Cutting explains why the disorder manifests in self-harming behaviors and describes how patients can be helped. |

Physiology and Biotechnology Integration for Plant Breeding
$208.16 A Global demand for wheat, rice, corn, and other essential grains is expected to steadily rise over the next twenty years. Meeting this demand by increasing production through increased land use is not very likely; and while better crop management may make a marginal difference, most agriculture experts agree that this anticipated deficit must be made up through increased crop yields.pThe first resource of its kind, Physiology and Biotechnology Integration for Plant Breeding assembles current research in crop plant physiology, plant biotechnology, and plant breeding that is aimed toward improving crop plants genetically while supporting a productive agriculture ecosystem. Highly comprehensive, this reference provides access to the most innovative perspectives in crop physiology a with a special emphasis on molecular approaches a aimed at the formulation of those crop cultivars that offer the greatest potential to increase crop yields in stress environments.pSurveys the current state of the field, as well as modern options and avenues for plant breeders and biotechnologists interested in augmenting crop yield and stabilitypWith the contributions of plant scientists from all corners of the globe who are actively involved in meeting this important challenge, Physiology and Biotechnology Integration for Plant Breeding provides readers with the background information needed to understand this cutting-edge work, as well as detailed information on present and potential applications. While the first half of the book establishes and fully explains the link between crop physiology and molecular biology, the second part explores the application of biotechnology in the effective delivery of the high yield and environmentally stable crop plants needed to avert the very real possibility of worldwide hunger. |

The Cutting
$5.99 Detective Sergeant Michael McCabe moved from New York City to Portland, Maine, to escape a dark past: both the ex-wife whoÂ’d left him for an investment banker, and the tragic death of his brother, a hero cop gone bad. He sought to raise his young daughter away from the violence of the big city . . . so heÂ’s unprepared for the horrific killer he discovers, whose bloody trail may lead to PortlandÂ’s social elite. Early on a September evening, the mutilated body of a pretty teenaged girl, a high school soccer star, is found dumped in a scrap-metal yard. She had been viciously assaulted, but her heart had been cut out of her chest with surgical precision. The very same day a young businesswoman, also a blonde and an athlete, was abducted as she jogged through the streets of the cityÂ’s west end. McCabe suspects both crimes are the work of the same man - a killer whoÂ’s targeting the young - who is clearly well-versed in complex surgical procedures, and who may have struck before. Just as the investigation is beginning, McCabeÂ’s ex-wife reemerges, suddenly determined to reclaim the daughter she heedlessly abandoned years earlier. With the help of his straight-talking (and, at times, alluring) partner, Maggie Savage, McCabe begins a race against time to rescue the missing woman and unmask a sadistic killer - before more lives are lost. |

The 2007-2012 World Outlook For Cutting, Sewing, And Binding Of Fabric
$969 This study covers the world outlook for cutting, sewing, and binding of fabricated carpet and rugs made from carpeting not made in same plant across more than 200 countries. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-`-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved. |
