Do I need to divide irises Dutch?

I planted some Dutch iris (Iris hollandica) some years ago and they arrive lumpy. Do I share them or leave them alone? And if I need to divide, when the best time?

They make their own baby bulbs each year, so if you divide them and prevent them from becoming too dense, you'll have flowers and can better appreciate all that much. If nothing sides, pot up the extras and give them to neighbors and bring the color all along the street.
