What are some good plants to grow in the garden?

I have no idea what way my garden faces sorry :L
I prefer flowers to vegetables and fruit, and im not that experienced, however i do have quite a big knowledge of plants. I love flowers that are scented as well.
Also do you have a themed garden?? Any suggestions would be great thanks

Without even knowing which country you are in its a bit difficult to advise. Roses are good on clay soil. Honeysuckle smells great if you have somewhere for it to climb. Nasturtiums grow very easily from seed and are scented. Lilly of the valley smells lovely but doesn’t last very long – it likes a shady spot and will put up with a draughty corner. Mahonia Charity is a prickly leaved shrub that has scented yellow flowers in winter. Perennial stocks flower over quite a long period and smell good. Sweet peas smell good too but have to be planted each year and need something to climb up. But if you have a big knowledge of plants I wonder why you are asking? Have a look in the gardening section of your local library for lots of ideas.
Its easy to know which way your garden faces in the northern hemisphere -the sun is on the south side in the middle of the day. It sets more or less in the west and rises in the East So if you look at the sun at midday, the wall or hedge facing you will be shaded on the sided facing you – this is where you can put your shade loving plants. Any wall behind you will then be in full sun, so a bed at its base will take plants that love sun and are a bit tender.
